Left the house with $30 and came home with only $3. Being a starving artist is tough stuff. Especially when Chinese cravings kick in.

Gomar's Archives: Bugs & Junk

Surprising how the world can look different through the lense of a camera. These are some of the best I've taken... so far.

These little ones were found in my mailbox. Although my house may now be infested with spiders, I have to say that I'm quite happy they're present as long as they provide a good picture.

Eh. Earthworm.
Probably the only picture that came out right in my film camera series.

My "OMG" moment with a praying mantis. I had never met one prior to this.

What was left of a rose after Sweetest Day.

Rainy season is good. So is spring. Flowers alone are cliche but put the two together...

Never really found out what it was. This was taken last year when Mr. Matushek took us out into the courtyard.

Nifty Thrifty Wednesday

Yes. I realize it is Thursday. Late Thursday at that. I didn't get to post these yesterday but for the few seconds you read this it will be Wednesday.

I'll start with inspiration. Although this didn't directly inspire the photos after this you gotta wonder... what drove him to tattoo his body in its entirety. Not that that's a bad thing. Rick Genest is indeed an oddity.  I rather like the hint of swagger he's got going with the cig and coat. Not to mention the cap.

So. Wednesday. After a long day of testing, the science portion of the ACT butchered me, my mom treated me to Dunkin' and thrifting. Oh she knows me well.

I never really bothered to bring the camera along with but I felt I'd need it today or yesterday rather. Nor did I ever really pay attention to the "knick-knacks" they'd sell. It'd always be straight to the ties or books. (I finally got my hands on a copy of Pet Cemetery by Stephen King.)

I realized... I should really be bringing the cam everywhere with me.

The empty bottles of sake I didn't buy.

My mom and I got a good laugh outta this one.

The many hangers of sheets and quilts and junk.

Sometimes the clothes worries me. Where's it been all it's life?

I felt bad. Both were broken and dusty.

Small very detailed pot.

The sake cup I didn't buy.

?

Yet another creepy doll.

Church ornament.

The very nice, soft antique couch.

Gomar's Archives: Candids/Portraits

It's people like GaGa who make me want to get into the photography business. You gotta give the girl credit for having the audacity to arrive in a "vessel" at the Grammies.

Although her latest single is somewhat bland and obviously distinct to her previous records, she has no problem reinventing herself. That's what I'm about. You gotta push boundaries and really, truly define yourself as an individual before you go out and make impact and change the world.

What I am saying is this... Bravo GaGa.
GaGa is photographed as part of a spread in March's Vogue.
And now on to me! Aha! I've been taking pictures. Haven't been getting the wanted results but with time, like wine, I'll get better.

Sometimes it's just finding the write time to actually photograph. I try between writing stories for the paper, writing in general, studying, reading the Stephen King book I've had for three months, picking up an interest in science, finishing a few art projects, catching up on work trying to pull my straight "B"s into "A"s, studying to be confirmed... Hard work I tell ya. Oi.

Most of these are recent; just didn't get around to posting them. Some w/ flash some w/o... Honestly I think they look fine yet I feel like I've broken rules using the flash. Ehhh... They are what they are.

Chancey and Tracy actin' a fool while working the food drive.

Salmon wasn't too far behind.

The Arrow Christmas party. They weren't the only ones laughing.

Watching Mr. Calvert play was beyond awesome.

Mitch was emulating his inner GaGa.

My Padrino Manuel playing my mom a tune on her birthday.

My niece and nephew.

And the oldest picture on here... me and cousin Brian. He didn't want to be with anyone else that day on our trip to the water park. Here he was handing me the small rocks he was stepping on. He thought it was the greatest thing.
