The New Members of My Posse (I Have a Posse Now)

I've mixed feelings about my birthday this year. My sister brought out the worst in me. The plan was to take me to Sunday school while my mom cooked for the party they were gonna throw me. We got there fine but the way back was the problem. The classes are down in Down Town by UIC. We took the expressway there. So before we go back home, my sister realizes she needs to use the little girls room. Okay. We drove around finding a place where she could do her deeds for about ten minutes. We stop at Al's and I buy two Chicago style hot dogs; one for me one for her... TEN BUCKS SO THAT SHE COULD GO TO THE BATHROOM! They were good hotdogs. So we leave and make our way through the city lookin' for a way back to the express.... We get lost at least twice more; once looking for the dang thing and once on the actual expressway. I think she was taking me to Indiana without even realizing it. There was somethin' wrong with her GPS. And after all THAT she still tried to pin the blame on me. Oi. The next part I will omit because I will seem like the villain when indeed it is her.

ANYWAY, we get home and I have the best time with my family. My mom made pozole and we had ice cream cake. Now on the cake there were two of the most significant things in my life: Mighty Morphin Power Ranger action figures and Toy Story toys. Momma knows me well! I grew up watching both franchises religiously since the Power Rangers were on on every Saturday morning and I had VHS tape of the Toy Story movie. I'd sing the songs to both and annoy the heck out of my family since it was the only thing I'd watch, (besides Lion King of course).

Now the plan is this: I want to have a series of pictures involving my new action figures and their encounters with the world. Much like this:
And this:
Brilliant right!? Funny how somethin' off the internet can inspire you to do things. So, w/o further adieu, meet my new homies:
(From left to right: Tommy, Zack, and Trini)

Now if all cakes came with these guys, cake sales would go through the roof! Part of my plan is get the other three remaining Rangers who didn't come on the cake so that the team/posse can look like this:

     Yeahhhhhhhhh! And THENNNNNNNN:

Haha Nah! Kidding! I'd like a girlfriend in the near future. Hahaha

The new GQ is out and I'm about to do laundry. It will be a good birthday; clean clothes and a good reading makes my day.

Don't Be Sad When the Sun Goes Down

Totally ready to go back to school tomorrow. I'll be overly busy but I like keeping busy. I've got interviews to schedule, a yearbook page to finish, a couple stories to write for the school newspaper, etc. I'm very eager!

This school year has flied by and my summer doesn't seem all that long ago. I traveled to Mexico after a long year. This time I went as a photographer and I really began to see the hills, the cracks in the cement, the small shops, and the corner posts from a different perspective.
Back in the town where mom and pops were born.

The city overflowed with craftsman. Up there you see hand made jewelry.

My fascination in plants was at an all time high.

Haha They wanted to be petted! The wires got in my way though... =/

Now this guy, my gosh, just about the nicest parrot I've ever met. He too wanted to be petted...

My Aunt was growing cotton. COTTON! I did not know that was possible!

I thought it was dead for the most part. Either that or he did not like me like the goats and the parrot.

Ewwww. This I did NOT pet. I was tempted but no. I've got limits.

This one made my whole trip; my favorite one out of the bunch.

I was creeped out yet eager to go in.

Ahhh, the shopping district.

You'd find these in the lower part of the shopping district.

I believe I was told this was an urn.

My bro walking a lonely road.

Some very sick ants feasting on what used to be a toad.

I spy with my little eye...

Aha, I'm back.

The Holidays really got in the way of me and my picture-taking/posting but none the less here I am. For Christmas I got some sort of desk organizer and a Target give card. Yeah, my Uncle Herman put A LOT of thought into the former. Ehhh. I'm not a materialistic person, just thought he could have put some more thought into it, ya know? My Aunt Emma got me the TG giftcard; she knows how much I love the place. It was great just kickin' it back with the family. Laughing really is the best remedy.

With a new year comes change. (Don't think I'll do that much changing. Procrastination is about my only problem I think.) I'll be spending a lot more time outside with Toby and A LOT more time running. I'm also hoping to get my first job (to buy a much needed DSLR), stomp my Junior year and do the same to Senior year, and take on writing as a part time hobby. I'm no pessimist; not the kinda guy who quits.

With that said, I've continued to shoot with a cheap point-and-shoot camera with crap megapixels. The inspirations there but the camera just ain't cuttin' it. I'll just have to wait till I raise enough money to buy the new one.

Amazing what a cracked egg can aspire you to do.

Don't mind the dirty dishes in the back.

This one oddly reminds me of Star Wars.

One of my favorite plants in the house. In Spanish they are none as "Noche Buenas" which literally translates to "Good Nights."
