Just one of those days...
No offense to my coaches, but I really needed a mental and physical break today. For a year now I've dedicated so much time to being a runner, I've neglected the other things I thought I used to be. They're probably gonna kill me tomorrow for cutting practice but the fatigue is just getting to me and photography is such a huge part of who I am.
So I decided to miss out on practice to fulfill my duties as Photo Club president. I don't regret it. So rejuvenating to speak to the man who has shown me so much about photography. So alleviating to speak to people who are just as passionate as I am about the art. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to run but sometimes you need a break a few days before conference to recompose. (That's mainly why they'll kill me; I decide to skip out on practice on the most important week of the season.)
It was worth every second. The freshman are learning quickly! It's amazing how much our numbers have grown; we shot up from ten to about thirty. I hope it stays that way. It was fantastic to see them getting along so well; not many of them were shy. Here are a few I took today.

And now to work on art projects deep into the night...

Ah-hem...
I've hit that brick wall again. The one that insists that I be critical about every aspect of every other teenager on this planet. I'm pestered is all. I don't know, but I just feel being a teenager has become this massive eye roll.
Doesn't help that in English we're reading about these cool dudes that used to get together at a bagel shop in 'Frisco and spit poetry all the while having jazz playing in the background.
I need to be culturally enriched... Feed me. I'm starving.
ENOUGH OF CAPTAIN BRING DOWN.
Photo Club has started up again! The program is so young and I feel so old what with my being a senior and the first quarter nearly being done. I'M NOT READY TO LET GO!
The mission: 2 of the sky, 1 of a tree, 1 of a leaf, 4 of flowers, and 2 of sunsets.

Update: I'm alive. Yippee.
I really need to figure out this thing they call 'time management.' I really don't know how I expect to find a job if I can't even manage my schedule. Eh, whatevs. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it I s'ppose.
ON TO THE PHOTOGRAPHY.
Taking AP Art has made me realize I really do belong behind the camera and not behind a drawing board. I've been taking pictures like mad; subjects varying from my cousin's baptism to school events. (I'll post them all eventually but I'll start with the photos I promised way back when.)
New York. I swear, everywhere I looked everyone had a pair of Dr. Dre Beats. (These massive fashionable headphones.) I felt right at home. I saw things I really wouldn't have appreciated if I weren't a photographer. Really an eye-opening experience given the culture and the fashion and the people.

Can you believe that's my dad? I can't either.
The best pizza in the world can only be bought in Flushing.
My sister can really put the burgers away.
My legs hurt for standing so long at the Harry Potter premeire. I forgot to ask Emma Watson to marry me.
The Met. Oh my god the Met.
I had a blast because I'm a nerd like that. The people that went with me... not so much.
Ahhh! I saw this and was in awe. The Met was amazing to say the least.
Little Italy ice cream. BEST I've had in my life.
Central Park.
Times Square.
My pops got totally ripped off. Forty down the drain...
The one in the back is rather handsome.
The bus rides have to be my favorite thing about New York.
